Fat in Cellulite-Prone Areas: Stomach, Buttocks, Hips, and Thighs….. An
Annoying Problem
Roughly 89% of women are naturally predisposed towards storing fat and
appearance of cellulite on the hips, thighs, buttocks and stomach. Factors
such as genetics, hormones, nutrition, lifestyle and aging play a role in
the growth of this tissue.
“Cellulite” is not a medical term. It is simply ordinary fatty tissue.
Strands of fibrous tissue connect the skin to deeper tissue layers and also
separate compartments that contain fat cells. When fat cells increase in
size, these compartments bulge and produce a waffled appearance of the skin.
The female genes are designed with these strands of fibrous and fatty
tissues because Mother Nature intended for us to support the increased
amount of weight during pregnancy and energy reserves for nursing time.

There are three layers of fat found in the body. Cellulite is located in the
layer of fat closest to the skin. Fat in this layer responds the least to

changes.

What are the optimal conditions for cellulite to diminish?
The changes in blood flow, lymphatic drainage, fat, and connective tissue
result in cellulite - a bumpy or dimpled appearance of the skin.
For cellulite to diminish, the inner layers of fat must shrink significantly
first. The condition must be present for fat cells to separate and have
enough space for proper lymphatic drainage to occur. The body’s ability to
drain unwanted toxins and lymphatic waste from the body must improve,
reducing undesirable swelling in those areas. Connective tissues must
stretch and become elongated, thereby improving skin tone and elasticity.
